Is Thundr Free? Here’s What You Can Start With.
You can start core chat without paying first. That is not “everything is completely free.”
Quick answer
Is Thundr free?
Thundr can be started for core random video or text chat without this page calling it a paid-only product. It is not completely free: coins, a daily crate, and in-app purchases can appear.
Coins
Extras may cost
Coins, crates, and in-app purchases can appear. We do not invent which tap costs what.
Web / App
Two ways in
Browser chat exists. An official Android app exists. Pricing and extras can differ by path.
This is a cost page, not a generic Thundr Chat intro. For a broader product overview, see Thundr Review. App vs browser is on Thundr App.
Before paying
What you can do before paying
- 01
Open chat
Thundr currently offers browser-based random video and text chat, so core matching is something you can start without this page treating it as a paid-only product.
- 02
Stay in the tab
A store install is not required for Thundr’s web path. Exact tools on web vs the Android app can differ, and availability can change.
- 03
Rewards are not a price list
Official Thundr material mentions coins and a free daily crate. That is a reward/coin system — not proof that every extra is free, and not a table of prices.
If a specific extra is paid on Thundr today, that can change. This page does not guess a feature menu or a price.
Friction
Where coins or purchases may appear
Google Play currently lists in-app purchases for the official Thundr Android app. Thundr’s own material also mentions coins and a free daily crate.
That is enough to reject “100% free” copy. It is not enough to invent a coin shop, a crossed-out price, or a savings badge.

A separate service
Want a free-to-start browser option?
ThundrChat is independent — not Thundr.com. Free to start, no app download, browse verified women, or open a random video or text match. Live camera sessions also live on Thundr Video Chat.
A useful distinction
Free to start
Every feature unlimited forever
That gap is why this page exists. Start is real. Completely free is not what the public facts support.
Thundr free questions
Ask it as a cost question.
Is Thundr free to use?
You can start Thundr and use core chat access without paying first. That is not the same as every feature staying free. Thundr offers browser-based random video and text chat; some features or rewards may involve coins or purchases. Last checked: September 2026.
Is Thundr completely free?
No. Free to start is not “completely free.” The official Android app currently lists in-app purchases on Google Play, and Thundr’s own material mentions coins and a free daily crate. This page does not claim everything is unlimited forever.
Does Thundr have in-app purchases?
The official Android listing on Google Play currently shows in-app purchases. This page does not publish a price table — amounts can change. Last checked: September 2026.
Does Thundr use coins?
Yes, Thundr’s official content mentions coins and a free daily crate. Which actions cost coins, and at what amount, can change. This page does not invent prices.
Can I use Thundr in a browser?
Yes. Thundr supports browser-based random video and text chat, including a mobile-web path. A store install is not the only way in. App vs browser details live on the Thundr App page.
Is ThundrChat free to start?
Yes. ThundrChat is an independent service. You can start video or text chat in the browser without paying first. Extra time later may use coins. That is a fact about ThundrChat, not a claim that Thundr.com is completely free.
Is ThundrChat affiliated with Thundr?
No. ThundrChat is an independent video chat service and is not affiliated with Thundr.com.
Start without a paywall in front of you.
ThundrChat is free to start in the browser. Not a claim that Thundr is completely free.
